296 Crashes Reported During April Storm in Minn.

A snow and sleet storm Thursday across Minnesota resulted in 296 crashes as of 4 p.m., according to the State Patrol.

Of those, 39 crashes caused injuries. There were no serious or deadly injuries reported.

In addition, 440 vehicles went off the road and spun out, according to the state patrol. The incidents happened between 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday across the state.

Sleet, Snow Create Difficult Driving Conditions in the Metro

Rain, sleet and snow made travel difficult in the metro Thursday morning.

The State Patrol said they have handled at least 180 crashes as of 10 a.m.

A number of ramps were closed due to vehicles losing control.

Crews were out trying to stay ahead of the wintry mix Wednesday evening into the morning.

Woman Killed in Vehicle Crash in Watertown Township

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Watertown Township, west of the Twin Cities.

The crash happened shortly before 11:41 a.m. Tuesday on County Road 10 near Snicker Lake, according to the Carver County Sheriff's Office.

A commercial vehicle northbound on County Road 10 collided with a car southbound, authorities said.

Officials Talk About Preventing Online Bullying

Prosecutors and sheriffs in Dakota, Ramsey and Washington counties are holding a forum about ways to prevent online bullying.

About 200 people are expected to attend Wednesday's session, in which authorities and experts will talk about keeping children safe online. Specifically, they'll talk about ways to prevent bullying, cyberbullying and sexting.

Cold Weather Could Make for Tough Fishing Opener

"The next best thing to fishing is talking about fishing," said owner of Oakdale's Blue Ribbon Bait Shop, Josh Stevenson.

That's about all he can do right now.  With more winter weather rolling in, the fishing opener feels much farther off than just a month.

"It's really a complete opposite of last year at this time."

Spring Storm Brings Slush, Showers and Snow to Minnesota

The second wave of a spring storm packing rain, sleet and snow is spreading across parts of Minnesota.

KSTP.com Meteorologist Ken Barlow says overnight a slushy mix of snow and sleet could result in an inch or two of accumulation by Wednesday morning.
