Shakopee Clean Up Day Set for April 28 | Events
There is no time like the present for spring cleaning. Start gathering up your unwanted items now. The Shakopee City Clean Up Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 28. It is a great chance to get rid of a lot of unwanted items at one time, in one place.
For just $25 residents of Shakopee, Louisville Township and Jackson Township can drop off a vehicle load (pick-up truck size or smaller) of recyclable items, electronics, scrap metal, and up to two major appliances.
Residents disposing of acceptable items that are not recyclable will be charged a flat fee based on the kind of vehicle they use. It will cost $25 per car, $30 per trailer and $30 per pick-up truck.
Items can be dropped off between 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Public Works building, The address is 400 Gorman Street.
The following items will not be accepted: liquids, chemicals and oils; light bulbs; paints/paint cans; tree logs/stumps; landscape blocks; contractor material debris; hot tubs, bath tubs and whirlpools; and RV refrigerators.
If you have furniture or household items you want to donate, the City will accept those too as long as they are in good condition. The items will be given to Bridging Inc., a Bloomington-based non-profit dedicated to helping people in transition. All donations are tax deductible.
