Minneapolis Tops List Among Major U.S. Cities for Voter Turnout

Minneapolis-St. Paul ranked first in the nation for voter turnout in the 2008 presidential election, based on a study by the Corporation for National and Community Service and the National Conference on Citizenship.

Absentee Balloting Opens for All Minnesota Residents

Voting in an election is getting easier for Minnesota voters, thanks to absentee ballots. And absentee balloting is now open for the General Election across the state for residents who can't get to the polls and still want to vote.

Six Candidates for School Board

According to Prior Lake- Savage Area Schools, six candidates have filed to fill four seats that are up for election.

Each of the seats are four year terms that expire in 2014.

The candidates are Erin Haust, Eric Pratt, Stacey Ruelle, Rhonda Seefeld, Todd Sorensen and Richard Wolf. 

Secretary Of State Reports Highest Absentee Balloting In 20 Years For Primary

The Minnesota Secretary of State reports absentee balloting for the 2010 August primary is the highest its been in 20 years.

Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says election officials have already accepted 28,992  absentee ballots as of Monday evening.  In all of 2008, the state received 21,160.

Minnesotans went to the polls Tuesday to vote in the state's first-ever August primary.

The race that received the most attention was the DFL contest in the gubernatorial race. It pitted endorsed-candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher against Mark Dayton and Matt Entenza.
